Utah Uniform Building Code (UUBC)
Intro/Brief:
- Residential Code: Based on the 2006 IECC Chapter 4
- Commercial Code: Based on the 2009 IECC
Through the State Construction Code Adoption Act, the Utah Uniform Building Code Commission updated the Utah Uniform Building Code (UUBC) to reference the 2009 IECC, effective July 1, 2010. The update, however, temporarily replaced the residential energy chapter (Chapter 4) of the 2009 IECC with Chapter 4 of the 2006 IECC, pending the completion of an incremental cost study analysis performed by SWEEP, Utah Clean Energy, and two state universities. The Commission will debate the update of the residential energy portion later in 2010.
