WEST VIRGINIA CPA SUMMARY

The West Virginia Gap Analysis report has been completed. The result of research and stakeholder interviews, the report analyzes the current code implementation efforts in the state, and makes recommendations for achieving 90% compliance with the model energy code.

  • West Virginia received an ACEEE State Energy Efficiency Scorecard of 1 out of 2 for building code compliance (Source: ACEEE)
  • Potential construction that could be impacted by adopting the model energy codes: 1,714 single-family housing units (in 2009), $1,206 million non-residential private construction value (in 2008)
  • The state accepted $32.7 million in Recovery Act funding for energy efficiency policies (Source: U.S. DOE)
