Danish Energy Policy and the U.S.

Thomas Friedman recently wrote an article for the New York Times on Danish Energy Policy and how they gained energy independence.  He suggested U.S. lawmakers follow their lead in order to create jobs, help the environment, and secure our future.  What are your thoughts?  Should the U.S. follow their lead?
