Nebraska Urban Affairs Committee Hearing on Building Codes

On October 26, the Nebraska Urban Affairs committee is holding a hearing examining an interim study of how building codes are adopted and amended by political subdivisions and how to harmonize local procedures on codes. The committee will also examine potential issues with unconstitutional delegation of legislative authority that exist in statute; the compatibility of the International Energy Conservation Code and the International Residential Code, and which code takes priority when conflicts occur.
