Vermont Energy Code Compliance Workshop

The Public Service Department received stimulus funds from the federal Department of Energy to make energy improvements to buildings around the state and support energy efficiency programs. As part of the grant, the state had to commit to developing a plan to implement the most recent residential and commercial energy codes that will achieve 90% compliance with the code by 2017. The new residential building code went into effect on October 1, 2011. The new commercial code will take effect in January 2012. How will Vermont achieve 90% code compliance by 2017? What mechanisms should be put in place to assure compliance?
