Oregon to Accept Amendment Proposals to IGCC for State Reach Code
UPDATE - May 4: The Oregon Building Codes Division (BCD) has extended the deadline for code change proposals relating to construction practice or methods related to energy efficiency for possible adoption in Oregon’s first Reach Code. All code change proposals related to energy efficient buildings must be submitted by 5:00 pm PDT on May 28.

Beginning March 23, the Oregon Building Codes Division (BCD) will begin accepting state building code amendment proposals relating to construction practice or methods related to energy efficiency for possible adoption in Oregon’s first Reach Code as authorized by Senate Bill 79. BCD has identified the 2012 International Green Construction Code Version 1.0 as the model document for this code. The first public hearing of the Oregon Reach Code Committee will be held (and webcasted) in Salem on March 31.
All code change proposal forms related to energy efficient buildings must be submitted by 5:00 pm PDT on May 7. BCD will utilize the public proposals submitted by the May deadline and discussions from the Reach Code committee to develop an Oregon Reach Code to present to the appropriate advisory board or boards by September 2010, for an anticipated code adoption date of April 1, 2011.
