Nevada Energy Office Seeks Comments on Potential 2009 IECC Update
The Nevada Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Authority (REEEA) has opened a rulemaking to adopt, amend, or repeal regulations to update the state energy code to the 2009 IECC. Interested parties may submit comments (including proposed language) along with the comment reply form by October 21. The Nevada Energy Commissioner must conduct at least three hearings on proposed regulations in different locations in Nevada, and give 30 days’ notice for each hearing.
After the passage of SB 73 in 2009, REEEA is required by statute (NRS 701.220) to adopt the latest version of the IECC every third year as the minimum energy standards for construction.
