2010 ACEEE State Energy Efficiency Scorecard released
The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) released its 2010 State Energy Efficiency Scorecard (note: log in required) in mid-October. The report highlights states' efforts on a number of broad energy efficiency fields, such as energy codes, utilities, transportation, combined heat and power, appliance standards, and government initiatives.
The report covers the history of energy codes in the United States, discusses the recent impact of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, and highlights the improvements in the model energy codes over their previous iterations. It also gives states a 0-7 ranking on energy codes, with up to 5 points for adoption and 2 points for implementation. California and Massachusetts received perfect scores (7), while Oregon, Virginia, and New York received near perfect scores (6.5). Five states received a zero.
