The Wisconsin Department of Commerce has proposed draft code language to update the Wisconsin Commercial Building Code (Comm 63 – Energy Conservation) to incorporate the 2009 IECC with Wisconsin amendments (including an additional air barrier requirement). A public hearing was held October 5. Legislative approval will be required for final adoption. The anticipated effective date is April 2011.

The process to update the residential requirements of the Wisconsin Uniform Dwelling Code (Comm 22 – Energy Conservation) will begin after the commercial process, with a tentative completion date of August or September 2011.

A two-day training has been scheduled on conducting a pilot study on the Recovery Act goal of 90% energy code compliance.
