D.C. Codes Board Approves 2012 IECC; Code Update Expected in 2013
On December 16, the District of Columbia’s Construction Codes Coordinating Board (CCCB) voted in favor of adopting the 2012 IECC. The current 2008 D.C. Construction Codes are based on ASHRAE 90.1-2007 and the 2006 IECC with strengthening amendments from the original iteration of the 30% Solution. Implementation is expected in March 2013 pending administrative review and legislative processes to officially enact the code update.
