Extreme Makeover Home Edition Delivers a Net-Zero Energy Home

ABC 's Extreme Makeover Home Edition decided to make one of their new homes a net-zero energy home with the help of Siemens, an Alliance to Save Energy Associate. The episode aried on February 13th. 

During daylight hours a solar power system combined with a wind turbine generates enough power to heat or cool the 3,400 square foot home and return power to the grid.  The excess electricity offsets the energy consumed at night making it a zero net-energy home.
