New Building Code for Amarillo Area Homes

The Texas Panhandle Builder's Association met Tuesday, April 17, 2012 to discuss what changes are in store with the new 2012 residential building code for the City of Amarillo. With a major focus being energy efficiency, the City of Amarillo and some local construction companies agreed that it is a trade off. An updated residential building code could mean a little more money up front, but there is long term savings and ultimately, a better and improved protection of the citizens.
