2011 Green Builder Green Home of the Year

2011 Green Builder Green Home of the Year went to the houses of 45-unit development on the island of O’ahu, Hawaii. The winner project focused on making all homes reflect traditional ways of living and LEED silver certified by combining the old and new technologies, while keeping costs down. From flooring details to central ventilation unit, every element of the house was carefully designed to be eco-sensitive, durable and low-energy. The outstanding design and construction contributed to the result of getting all of the homes to be sold in one day, but it also helped and continues to help local firms in offering better homes to the community.

It's great that this forum promotes and awards prized for green buildings. People need to become more aware of the impact they have on the planet. This way they can start thinking about more ways to make green, sustainable constructions.
