Bring It Home Oklahoma Symposium on Energy Codes in Tulsa on March 19

The Bring It Home Oklahoma campaign, an initiative developed by the Oklahoma Sustainability Network (OSN) and the Phillips Murrah - C.H. Guernsey partnership, has been active since the passage of the Recovery Act to assist Oklahoma communities adopt and implement energy efficient building codes. The project is the first coordinated effort in Oklahoma created to reduce energy consumption and assist the Oklahoma workforce to compete in an energy smart construction economy.

Bring It Home sponsored an all-day symposium in January in Oklahoma City for an audience of code officials, local government officials, building industry professionals. Besides ICC-certified training sessions on the 2009 IRC and IECC, BCAP staff presented on the benefits of the 2009 and 2012 IECC, and the Oklahoma Uniform Building Code Commission also outlined its five-year plan to adopt the 2009 and 2012 ICC code series.

BCAP and SPEER will be participating in Bring It Home’s second all-day symposium event on March 19 in Tulsa at the main auditorium of OU-Tulsa’s Schusterman Learning Center, near 41st and Yale.
