Hawai'i - Bill to Adopt Provisions of the 2012 IgCC Moves to the Senate Ways and Means Committee
A bill (SB 2290) requiring the state building code to include provisions from the 2012 International Green Construction Code (IgCC) has proceeded to the Senate Committee on Ways and Means. These provisions may include advanced requirements for energy and water conservation, sustainable material selection, site design, and commissioning. The IgCC is a model code that is fully compatible with the latest editions of the IECC, IBC, IRC and ASHRAE 90.1.
Currently, the Hawai’i state building code is the Hawai’i State Energy Conservation Code, which is based off the 2006 IECC with state specific amendments.
